2.7.3. Check of operability of the fuel pump

Switch off ignition.
Check operation of the fuel pump, having given tension of the rechargeable battery on conclusions electric the pump electric motor socket.

NOTE
The fuel pump is installed in the fuel tank therefore the sound of its work is heard only at the removed stopper of a bulk mouth of a tank.

Make sure that the bringing fuel hose is under pressure, having squeezed his hand (fig. 2.210).

Put a back of a back seat, then cast away the put back seat (fig. 2.211) forward.

The screw-driver open a cover of the hatch of the fuel pump in the car bottom under a back seat (fig. 2.212).
For dumping of pressure in fuel pipelines and hoses start the engine at the switched-off fuel pump and wait until the engine stops.

NOTE
Before disconnecting the pipeline and a hose of supply of fuel, it is necessary dump fuel pressure to exclude its emission.

Disconnect the plug from a minus conclusion ("–") of the rechargeable battery and connect the electric socket of the fuel pump.

Attach the control manometer (fig. 2.213) to the fuel filter by means of an adapter. Reliably tighten the union of fastening of an adapter of the manometer of pressure of fuel.
Attach the plug to a minus conclusion ("–") of the rechargeable battery.
Turn on the fuel pump, having given tension of the rechargeable battery on conclusions of the electric socket of the pump.
After creation of pressure of fuel be convinced of lack of leak of fuel via the control manometer and its connections.
Start the engine and leave it to idle.
Check fuel supply pressure.
Nominal rate: 350 kPa (3,5 kgfs/cm2).
If pressure of supply of fuel does not meet standard, define the reason and eliminate malfunction, as shown below.
Stop the engine and track fuel pressure on the control manometer: pressure has to keep approximately within 5 min. If pressure falls, determine falling speed. Define and remove the cause of pressure drop, as shown below.

NOTE
At a detachment of a hose cover the union with a rag to exclude fuel emission as the fuel-supply line is under residual pressure.

Replace a sealing ring of the union of a hose.
Attach a fuel hose to a branch pipe of the fuel pump and tighten the union.
Be convinced of lack of leak of fuel.

Replacement of the fuel filter and fuel pump
Dump pressure in fuel pipelines and hoses, having executed the following:
Remove a pillow of a back seat and separate the electric socket of the fuel pump.
Start the engine, wait until the engine stops, switch off ignition.

Disconnect the plug from a minus conclusion ("–") of the rechargeable battery (fig. 2.214).
Connect the electric socket of the fuel pump.
Turn off bolts with an ear, keeping from a provorachivaniye of a nut of fastening of the fuel filter.

NOTE
Cover the fuel filter with a napkin for prevention of an effluence of the fuel which remained in it.

Turn off bolts of fastening of the fuel filter and take out the filter from a fastening collar.
After replacement of the fuel filter be convinced of lack of leak of fuel.

Replacement of the limiter of a modulation (on-off valve)

Disconnect a hose of removal of vapors of fuel (fig. 2.215), then remove the modulation limiter.

Attach the modulation limiter to fuel-supply lines in the correct situation (fig. 2.216).

Replacement of the sensor of the index of level of fuel
Remove a stopper of a bulk mouth of the fuel tank for dumping of pressure in a tank.

Unscrew screws of fastening of the sensor of the index of level of fuel and take out the sensor from a tank (fig. 2.217).
