The sensor of temperature of cooling liquid is installed in the pipeline of cooling liquid on a head of cylinders. It takes temperature to cooling liquid and gives a signal on the control unit of the engine. The sensor is executed in the form of the thermistor sensitive to change of temperature. Electric resistance of the sensor decreases with temperature increase. EBU determines temperature of cooling liquid by the size of tension of a signal of the sensor and establishes optimum enrichment of working mix at warming up of the engine (fig. 2.184).

Ship the sensor in hot cooling liquid (fig. 2.185).
Check whether sensor resistance meets standard.
Sensor resistance:
- at a temperature of 60 °C: 123,8–172,8 Ohms;
- at a temperature of 115 °C: 23,5–29,5 Ohms.

Installation
Check that the thermostat is correctly installed in the case and its flange densely adjoins to the case in an installation site.
Establish an inlet branch pipe of the cooling system with new laying.
Fill the cooling system with pure cooling liquid.
Moment of an inhaling of the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid: 20–40 N · m.
