2.3.4. Check and adjustment of a gap in the drive of valves

NOTE
Check and adjustment of gaps in the drive of valves is made on the cold engine (at a temperature of cooling liquid: 20 °C and the head of cylinders installed on the engine.

Remove a noise-protective casing of the engine.
Uncover a maslozalivny mouth.
Turn off bolts of fastening of the central cover and then uncover.

Remove the top cover of a belt of the GRM drive (fig. 2.101).
Turn off bolts of fastening of the top cover of a belt of the GRM drive and then uncover.
Uncover a head of cylinders.
Disconnect candle wires of high voltage, holding them for caps and not making considerable efforts at their detachment.

NOTE
The pulling or bending of a wire of high voltage can lead to damage of the conductor in a wire.

Disconnect a hose of compulsory ventilation of a case and a ventilating hose of the valve of compulsory ventilation of a case from a cover of a head of cylinders.
Disconnect an accelerator pedal cable from a cover of a head of cylinders.
Turn off bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of cylinders and then uncover also laying.

Install the cylinder No. 1 piston in VMT of a step of compression (fig. 2.102).
Turn a pulley of a bent shaft and combine a groove on it with an adjusting tag of "T" on the injection advancing corner indicator (a scale on the lower cover of a belt of the GRM drive).

Check that the opening in an asterisk (for a belt) the camshaft is combined with an adjusting tag on a cover of the forward bearing of the camshaft. If there is no combination, then turn a bent shaft on one turn (360 °) (fig. 2.103).
Check gaps in the drive of valves.
Check only the valves noted in the drawing (when the cylinder No. 1 piston in compression VMT). Measure a gap in the drive of valves.
By means of the flat probe measure a gap between an adjusting washer of a pusher of the valve and a surface of a back (non-working) part of a cam.
Write down results of measurements of a gap in places where the measured size does not correspond to admissible values. These data will be required further for selection of the replaced adjusting washer.
Values of a gap in the drive of valves (at a temperature of cooling liquid of the engine: 20 °C) are given below.
Nominal rate:
inlet valves – 0,20 mm;
final valves – 0,28 mm.
Maximum permissible value:
inlet valves – 0,12–0,28 mm;
final valves – 0,20–0,36 mm.

Check only the valves noted in the figure 2.104 when the cylinder No. 4 piston in compression VMT. Measure a gap in the drive klapanov.2

Turn a bent shaft so that for the valve in which drive the gap is regulated the acting part of a cam of the camshaft was sent (fig. 2.106) up.

By means of the special tool 09220-2D000 press a pusher of the valve and insert a stopper between the camshaft and a pusher of the valve. Remove the special tool (fig. 2.107).

By means of the small screw-driver and a magnet take an adjusting washer (fig. 2.108).

By means of a micrometer measure thickness of the removed adjusting washer (fig. 2.109).
Calculate thickness of a new adjusting washer which needs to be established that the gap in the drive of the valve corresponded to nominal rate.

N: Thickness of a new adjusting washer.
Inlet valve: N=T+(A–0,20) of mm.
Final valve: N=T+(A–0,28) of mm.
Pick up a new adjusting washer thickness as it is possible closer to the calculated size.

NOTE
20 sizes of adjusting washers of a pusher of the valve with a step of 0,04 mm in the range from 2,0 mm to 2,76 mm are provided.

Establish the chosen adjusting washer on a valve pusher.
By means of the special tool 09220-2D000 press a pusher of the valve and remove a stopper.
Again check a gap in the valve drive.

Installation
Remove the remains of old laying and sealant from the privalochny planes of a head of cylinders and a cover of a head of cylinders.

Apply sealant (Loctite No. 5999) on a cover of a head of cylinders (fig. 2.110).
Establish a cover of a head of cylinders.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of cylinders: 8–10 N · m.
Connect an accelerator pedal cable.
Connect a hose of compulsory ventilation of a case and a ventilating hose of the valve of compulsory ventilation of a case to a cover of a head of cylinders.
Connect candle wires of high voltage to spark plugs.
Establish the top cover of a belt of the GRM drive and tighten four bolts of fastening.
Establish the central cover and tighten five bolts of fastening.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of the central cover: 2,5–3,5 N · m.
Establish a cover of a maslozalivny mouth.
Establish a noise-protective casing of the engine.

Check a chain guide for lack of a bend, cracks or other defects (fig. 2.111).
Check a rubber overlay of a guide of a chain for lack of excessive wear.
If necessary replace a chain guide.

Check chain elements (plugs and plates) for lack of wear. Replace a chain if wear excessive.

Installation
Install hydrocompensators into place.

Combine a GRM drive chain with chain asterisks of camshafts of inlet and final valves, as shown in the figure 2.113.

Establish covers of bearings of camshafts. Identification tags on covers of bearings are intended for identification of an installation site of a cover (the party of inlet / final valves) (fig. 2.115).

Tighten bolts of fastening of covers of bearings of camshafts the nominal moment of an inhaling in two-three receptions in the order specified by numbers in the figure 2.116.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a cover of the bearing of the camshaft: 12–14 N · m.

By means of the special tool (a mandrel for installation of an epiploon of the camshaft 09221-21000) press an epiploon of the camshaft (fig. 2.117).
Make sure that the working edge of an epiploon of the camshaft is oiled by engine. Put on an epiploon the camshaft from a GRM drive belt asterisk, then establish by blows of the hammer to a mandrel an epiploon so that it was located aflush with a surface.

Establish an asterisk (for a belt) the camshaft and tighten a bolt of its fastening the nominal moment of an inhaling (fig. 2.118).
The moment of an inhaling of a bolt of fastening of an asterisk of the camshaft (for a belt): 80–100 N · m.
Combine tags on asterisks of cranked and distributive shaft with the corresponding adjusting tags and install the cylinder No. 1 piston in compression step VMT.
Establish a cover of a head of cylinders.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of cylinders: 8–10 N · m.
Install ignition coils assembled, candle wires of high voltage and the central kryshky

Establish a GRM drive belt, and then when the roller of a natyazhitel pulls a belt, delay fastening of a natyazhitel (fig. 2.119).
Establish GRM drive belt covers.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a cover of a belt of the GRM drive: 8–10 N · m.
Establish a pulley of the pump of cooling liquid and a pulley of a bent shaft.
