Camshafts of the engine with a capacity of 1,6 l are shown in fig. 2.41 on page 66.

Removal
Disconnect a hose and a ventilating hose of the valve of compulsory ventilation of a case.

Remove a pulley of the pump of cooling liquid and a pulley of a bent shaft (fig. 2.42).
Uncover a GRM drive belt.
Weaken bolts of a roller of a natyazhitel of a belt of the GRM drive, weaken a tension of a belt and temporarily fix a roller of a natyazhitel.
Take off a GRM drive belt from a camshaft asterisk.
Turn off bolts of fastening of the central cover and then uncover.
Remove ignition coils assembled.

Turn off bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of cylinders and then uncover (fig. 2.43).
Remove a camshaft asterisk.

Uncover bearings of the camshaft and a chain of the GRM drive (fig. 2.44).
Remove camshafts.
Take hydrocompensators.

Check
Check camshaft necks for lack of wear. If necks of a shaft are considerably worn-out, replace the camshaft.

Check the acting part of cams of the camshaft for lack of damage. If cams of a shaft are damaged or their wear exceeds admissible size, replace the camshaft (fig. 2.45).

Height of cams of the camshaft
Nominal rate:
inlet: 43,4484 mm;
final: 43,8489 mm.
Maximum permissible value:
inlet: 42,9484 mm;
final: 43,3489 mm.
Check a surface of a back part of cams of the camshaft for lack of damage or considerable wear and if necessary replace a shaft.
Check a condition of a bed of the camshaft for lack of damage. If wear of a bed of the camshaft exceeds admissible size, replace a head of cylinders assembled or covers of bearings of the camshaft.
Axial gap of the camshaft: 0,10–0,15 mm

Check of an epiploon of the camshaft
Check a working edge of an epiploon for lack of wear. If the working edge is worn-out, replace an epiploon.
Check a condition of the surface of the camshaft contacting to a working edge of an epiploon. If the surface of a shaft is worn-out, replace the camshaft.

Check of hydrocompensators

Record a surface of "A" of the hydrocompensator filled with engine oil and press an emphasis of "B" of the hydrocompensator by hand. If the emphasis of "B" moves, replace the hydrocompensator (fig. 2.46).
Other characteristic malfunctions of the hydrocompensator are given in table 2.6.

Check of a chain of the GRM drive
Check chain elements (plugs and plates) for lack of wear. Replace a chain if wear excessive.

Installation
Install hydrocompensators into place.

Combine a GRM drive chain with chain asterisks of camshafts of inlet and final valves, as shown in the figure 2.48.

Oil engine basic necks of the camshaft, then install the camshaft to the place of (fig. 2.49).

Establish covers of bearings of camshafts. Identification tags on covers of bearings are intended for identification of an installation site of a cover (the party of inlet / final valves) (fig. 2.50).

Tighten bolts of fastening of covers of bearings of camshafts the nominal moment of an inhaling in two-three receptions in the order specified by numbers in the figure 2.51.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a cover of the bearing of the camshaft: 12–14 N · m.

By means of the special tool (a mandrel for installation of an epiploon of the camshaft 09221-21000) press an epiploon of the camshaft (fig. 2.52).
Make sure that the working edge of an epiploon of the camshaft is oiled by engine. Put on an epiploon the camshaft from a GRM drive belt asterisk, then establish by blows of the hammer to a mandrel an epiploon so that it was located aflush with a surface.

Establish an asterisk (for a belt) the camshaft and tighten a bolt of its fastening the nominal moment of an inhaling (fig. 2.53).
The moment of an inhaling of a bolt of fastening of an asterisk of the camshaft (for a belt): 80–100 N · m.
Combine tags on asterisks of cranked and distributive shaft with the corresponding adjusting tags and install the cylinder No. 1 piston in compression step VMT.
Establish a cover of a head of cylinders.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of cylinders: 8–10 N · m.

Install ignition coils assembled, candle wires of high voltage and the central cover (fig. 2.54).
Establish a GRM drive belt, and then when the roller of a natyazhitel pulls a belt, delay fastening of a natyazhitel.
Establish GRM drive belt covers.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a cover of a belt of the GRM drive: 8–10 N · m.
Establish a pulley of the pump of cooling liquid and a pulley of a bent shaft.
