2.1.9. Adjustment of a tension of a belt of the GRM drive
Lift the car by means of the rolling jack.
Slowly turn a steering wheel at first clockwise, then counterclockwise.
NOTE
Considerable resistance to turn should not be felt.

Remove an arm of a side support of the engine (fig. 2.9).
Remove a pulley of the pump of cooling liquid.

Remove the top cover of a belt of the GRM drive (fig. 2.10).
Remove spark plugs.
Bring the cylinder No. 1 piston in compression step VMT, having turned a bent shaft of the engine clockwise.
NOTE
Never turn a bent shaft counterclockwise for combination of tags as it can lead to the wrong tension of a belt of the GRM drive.

Weaken a bolt of hinged fastening and an adjusting bolt of an arm of a roller of a natyazhitel (fig. 2.11).
Turn a bent shaft of the engine clockwise so that the asterisk of the camshaft turned on 2 teeth.
NOTE
The turn of the camshaft in situation at which its cams are not pressed yokes of final valves is necessary for creation of the correct tension of a belt.

Check that normal gearing of a belt of the GRM drive with asterisks is provided (each tooth of a belt on an asterisk is located in a flute).

Tighten at first an adjusting bolt, then tighten a bolt of hinged fastening of a roller of a natyazhitel (fig. 2.12).
Check a GRM drive belt tension.
Establish spark plugs.
Establish the top cover of a belt of the GRM drive.
Establish a pulley of the pump of cooling liquid and an arm of a side support of the engine.
